The artist seductively extracts simplistic images out of fantasy worlds such as Playboy, Disney, and Victoria’s Secret — and displaces them into a tangled and confused coexistence.  She plays with the similarities and blurred borders between children’s cartoons and pinups while examining how both of these estranged realms of imagery prescribe standards of femininity.  By merging and mutating ideals and clichés of innocence, maternity and sexuality, she creates deviants that comment on the problematic relationship between fantasy and reality.
