| Haddon Hall Hotel was the last of the old time hotels that housed the remaining senior citizens of Miami Beach. Upon eviction from other hotels, due to gentrification, many of the elderly at this hotel, which offered displaced senior citizens a place to live at a relatively cheap price. However, paradise for the seniors was short lived. Haddon Hall too began its renovations. Rather than closing the hotel down to remodel, management conducted the refurbishing with its inhabitants still inside. Several residents were forced from their prime rooms to smaller ones. The move proved to be exhausting and emotional for the residents who were given no choice in the matter. These images are a documentary of the hotel’s last days as a place where seniors could live out their golden years. |

| Documenting the elderly residents lives for two years, the artist has successfully managed to portray a sense of playfulness to her subjects. Ms. Harris gracefully captures intimate moments, portraying these women in the process of beauty preservation through exercising, tanning, hairdressing and make-up. |

| Although Ms. Harris was 26 when she began this project, the artist photographed the “Haddon Hall Hotel” residents with a respect as if she was one of their peers. |
